The Marketing and Communications Office is responsible for the Buffalo State College website, including all official sub-sites. Directed to prospective and current students, faculty and staff, donors, alumni, and the general community, the Buffalo State homepage receives an average of 300,000 unique visits per month.
The Web Team provides direct timely assistance to the campus community in the form of website planning and assessment, custom site development, online promotion, content development and support, and content management training and support.
Buffalo State's official presences on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Flickr, and LinkedIn are all maintained by the Marketing and Communications Office.
Work developed by the five-person creative team has garnered more than 50 awards by organizations such as CASE, SUNYCUAD, UCDA, PRSA, and the Marketing Admissions Association.
The system we use is Drupal, a content management system (CMS) that is on the web so you don’t need any special software to update your sites. We use this CMS for all websites designed and maintained for the college by the Marketing and Communications Office.
Use of the college's web template system is required for all official Buffalo State sites.
We have included features to save you time—when possible we feed content in from college sources (news and events, program information, contact information), and when those central sources are updated your site automatically shows the latest content. There are 13 template options available with a variety of styles, colors, and layouts to choose from.

Whether you want a Drupal and accessibility refresher or are new to maintaining an office or department site, we offer training throughout the year. Directors, chairs, or associate deans should e-mail (or be copied on an e-mail to) Marketing and Communications requesting site access for new Primary Web Contacts (PWCs) or content managers. Please include the URL of the website to be maintained and the name and user ID of the PWC or supporting content manager. PWCs and supporting content managers must attend a one-time training session.
Trainings are held biweekly throughout the semester via Microsoft Teams.
